| I have given up with the Tiger supplied remote! After speaking to Chester Sports cars and asking them why I couldn't seem to select any gears and why the gear lever hit the handbrake in 2nd, they suggested a Westfield gear remote... £80 well spent if you ask me. I can now select all gears easily, and as you can see its much shorter so it doesn't hit the handbrake anymore. It also has the reverse stop welded on in the right place. | |
| The speedo and tacho will hold the dash pad in place when it is trimmed and fitted. I have roughly (ok, very roughly) cut the holes in the scuttle panel.
Mmmm, push button start.... |
|
| The backs of the wheels hit the tie bars on full lock so you have restrict the lock to lock movement on the steering rack. The first step is to remove the cable ties on the rack gaiters and pull them off the rack towards the wheel. | |
| Then fit a couple of jubilee clips on each side of the tie rods. Refit the gaiters and job done. | |
| The n/s seat belt mounting. The SVA manual says the bolts must be at least 11mm diameter and at least 8.8 TL. These are M12 x 80mm with a tensile load of 8.8 | |
| I fitted and wired up all the gauges today. There are a couple of mods I had to make to the tiger loom to get it all working. There wasn't enough earths for the rev counter so one was added.
The fog lamp switch is wired incorrectly on the Tiger loom. The SVA manual says the warning lamp on the switch must illuminate when the fog light is on. The tiger loom has it set up to illuminate when the side lights are on. The easy way around this is to cut the supply for the bulb (red) and join to the fog light output (red/blue). This means the warning lamp only illuminates when the lamp is actually on. |
|
| Side repeaters added. The tiger loom makes no provision for these so again, you have to add them in. I wired mine to the wires that supply the dash warning bulbs for the indicators. | |
| The nosecone had not been secured at the bottom, so whilst I had the car in the air I riveted a small ali panel between the bottom of the nose cone and the lower chassis rail. This holds everything in place. | |
| I wired up the column switches today. I have included this diagram to show where the wires go.
If you want to use the sierra indicator/dip switch to dip the headlamps you'll have to wire up an additional pin on the switch (why don't Tiger do this for you in the loom?????) all the details are on the diagram.... |

| Nearly done now. | |
